Welcome/Introductions and apologies: Nothing to report

 

Approval of minutes from last meeting: Minutes approved by all

 

Actions of minutes from last meeting: 

 

·         Privacy screen for waiting room:  leaflets have now been removed, awaiting external company to remove shelf.

·         First Aid Training:   C/F, JM to look into who other GP Practices have used for this i.e. St John’s Ambulance

·         Support for carers: C/F – PPG to look into help that is available for carers i.e. financial support.

·          

 

PPG Recruitment:   PPG and Practice to investigate ways how the PPG can support the practice i.e. goals, targets and how we can recruit more PPG members. To be discussed at next meeting with ideas from both parties

 

Update from Practice -

 

·         Recruitment:

o   Upcoming interviews for two new GPs (Female)

o   ANP:  no longer advertising for this role

o   Senior Pharmacy Technician:  VS will be joining us on 1st December (has previously supported the practice before) and will be full time, based at the surgery

o   Recently hired two new PSA’s

 

AI:  Hopefully starting early in the new year. Awaiting further information re Governance. Once up and running, PPG to receive training on the new forms patients will be using (if they have availability) so they can assist patients with any queries/provide feedback to the practice.

 

Autumn Covid/Flu Clinics

 

Covid/ flu clinic went well. Thank you to Jane for supporting the practice. Covid Vaccination programme 25/26 due to end in January, flu will continue until end of March.

 

Online Forms and Duty Doctor System:

 

From 1st October, online forms for requesting an appointment must be turned on during core hours (0800 1830 Monday to Friday) - we have a GP allocated each day as duty doctor to manage these requests, along with their duties. Challenges regarding this were discussed.

 

Staff Protected Learning Time (PLT)

 

Our next PLT is Thursday 27th November, PLTs are organised 2 - 4 times a year (at PCN and Practice level). The agenda will include Child Wellbeing, medicine management, staff quiz on scenarios to see if there is a need for improving patient interactions.

Feedback Form (what happens with these) –anonymous feedback from patients is collated each month by the Operations Manager. This is submitted and visible to NHS England.  The information is placed on our website and sent to all staff to read comments. These have been very positive.
