Matters Arising

Identification of Attendees by name- name badges of attendees handed out by DB.

Clarification of name of group- will be known as Friends of Hawthorns Surgery.

Welcome, introductions and apologies – welcome to new member DM. Unfortunately JP has resigned from the group.

Matters arising from minutes –this not to be included going forward in minutes. Previously agreed to roles/names being included. Sign for surgery to recruit members to be shortened/easy to read suggested by VR. Sign to be placed next to check in machine LW to action. Patients interested in joining PPG can get further information from Reception staff. We can also place a banner on the website on how to join the PPG.

PPG opportunities to meet patients – Wednesday are best for members to attend between 10am-12pm. PPG members to arrange time/dates. PPG members to have a look around waiting room ie removal over posters etc.

Updates from Practice:

  A - Recruitment – We have a new Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Kerry ) joining us at the ned of May and a new GP Locum due to start in June to cover maternity leave for Dr Fanous. We are still recruiting for Admin staff and are currently finding it hard to recruit the ideal member especially since the pandemic. Our aim is to always have 4 GP’s working in the surgery especially during Mondays which are extremely busy.

 

  B - GPimhs – New Mental Health and Wellbeing support will be being offered from 2nd May and will be held on Tuesday for patients to attend.  A GP referral will need to be made to this service. This will provide support to patient who require this service and will also help to signpost patients to other services if needed.  This has been very successfully piloted in another surgery.

 

Website – to be updated with GP names/nurses to be added/removed. We can also see how many patients access the website to see how many patients interact with this service.

GP Plaques - to be updated with new GPs names and old removed. Good for patients to know names of GP’s at the surgery.
